Pawtucket Hall of Fame inductees reflect on prestigious honor


PAWTUCKET – Bill Mulholland picked up his mail one afternoon in June and started shuffling through its contents.


“I saw something that I thought was junk mail, but I decided to rip it open and take a closer look,” said Mulholland, Pawtucket’s former long-time Parks & Recreation Superintendent. “I opened it up and it read, ‘Congratulations! You’ve been elected … ’ so I immediately looked up at the letterhead. It read, ‘Pawtucket Hall of Fame,’ and I thought, ‘What?’


“I had no idea; I later found out (current Parks & Rec Director) John Blais had nominated me, and that completely surprised me,” he added. “I was floored. I had no idea I was being nominated for something so prestigious.
